What is Cake On Rails?
Most people like cake. We like it fast.
Put simply, Cake On Rails is a Web 2.0 Experimental BETA web app. With hundreds of so called standards in interactive mashups, promising to change your life, there was nothing that gave an exact functional, implementational or sociological match across the multi supported Web 2.0 environment we live in.
Until you decide to get cake... on rails.
Imagine a standard. A standard done properly. Where you could see the little badge on a website, news feed, wap portal or device and know that it would work. Cake On Rails gives you that comfort. Already we're seeing cake compatible sites. Now we're in BETA, you need to adopt cake, use it, mash it, live it and breathe in a world that works.
Imagine a description. A description of the web app done properly. Where you could discover what the app does and how the API works. Can you imagine that? The people who wrote most of this can't.
Cake On Rails is also geared towards mobile devices. Okay not everyone agrees (yet) that mobile cakes are needed, and we need to think about the cake delivery number scheme, but we're getting there.
Cake On Rails. It's like the moon - it just works.

Pre-Launch Beta
So, we had this idea on the train back from the 'Future of Web Apps' conference, all developers like cake, and we like it fast. So we give you CakeOnRails, we have a launch signup box for you to enter your email address into, we won't do anything with it, it's just there to look good. But more importantly we have an API that serves up a cake recipe, this should allow you to get started with mashing up our cakes, it doesn't do much right now but when we get aquired or some VC funding we should be able to develop it further.
